In this week’s shorty soundbite, Jade tackles one of the more pertinent features of LinkedIn, the relevancy score + how you can utilise it in your business!
But before we get into that, what IS the LinkedIn relevancy score??
Basically, the relevancy score is a value that LinkedIn gives a pair of two people on the platform.
When you send someone a connection request + they accept it, LI immediately goes, "Okay cool, you two must be at least a little interested in what this other person has to say". As you engage with a person's content more (like, comment, share, message them etc), your relevancy score for that person will go up + you’ll be more likely to see their content (posts, comments, etc) in your feed.
However, as the old saying goes, bird watching goes both ways. As your relevancy score increases, the other person is also more likely to see your stuff on their feed!
You can use this to help build meaningful connections + sort of game the system a little bit. Have someone in your professional orbit but you feel like an outright sales call would be a bit much? Connect with them on LinkedIn! Send them a message, like their posts, comment occasionally (maybe not on every post, that might get weird). These small actions can compound + potentially bloom into something bigger. Who knows, might even land a new client out of it 😉
