A note about choosing social media platforms (soundbite)

Warning: our content is super addictive.
You might notice that Rebel Nation is a little playful on social media – we often use slang like DW, WTF and damn. This isn’t because we’re too cool for school and don’t care, it’s quite the opposite actually. If you browse through our website, social media, documents (yes, even our quotes) you’ll notice that’s just who we are – some might refer to us as rebels 😉
So, if you’re not picking up what we’re putting down, social media is all about having a personality and that personality is based on your audience and brand. For example, if you’re a government organisation, using WTF in a caption would probably be frowned upon – but that doesn’t mean you have to be boring either.
Our team loves sharing the out-of-pocket content that mainstream brands post like “A post a day keeps the boss away, Bali fares from $135^ tomorrow slay slay slay” from Jetstar Australia on Facebook. You don’t need to be inappropriate or hilarious, just a little imaginative and different – even as an airline.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, in episode 85 of Marketing + Margaritas Jade discusses why choosing a social media platform should be intentional and what to consider when making the decision. It doesn’t matter what ‘the kids are doing these days’ if they’re not your target audience.
