You’re better than boosting – why you need to stop boosting Facebook posts

Do you boost your business’ Facebook content sometimes? If you do, you might want to take a minute to hear me out!
Working for Rebel Nation has taught me many new things about marketing, social media and websites. I am constantly learning new ways and techniques to generate awesome marketing outcomes. I really want to share with you one MAJOR thing that I have learnt in my time here. To put it bluntly…
STOP BOOSTING FACEBOOK POSTS.
Right now.
Stop it.
Using the ‘boost button’ is basically throwing your money away. I know, I was shocked to find out too!
If you are new to the Facebook marketing world, a boost post is available to anyone with a business Facebook page, and it’s when you pay Facebook to get your content seen by more people. Many people turn to this option because it’s easy and gets their post more views. In reality, the post is just getting delivered to your generic target audience and, unless your lucky, these extra viewers are not going to respond and interact with your content in a way that is going to help your business.
When you boost your posts, you may find it gets a lot of post likes, but how many people are clicking through to your website or watching your video? What conversions are you getting out of it? Probably not too many. Boosting posts won’t help you to achieve results in the most effective way. Facebook boost also gives you no control over where your ads are placed, it goes straight to the default options – not cool Facebook.
What should you do instead?
If you want to create more effective ads and gain better results, we highly recommend using Facebook’s Ads Manager. Ads Manager has more features for you to experiment and create new content with, allows you to target your audience better and select different goals that you want to reach. If you want more video views, lead generations, store visits, conversions or brand awareness, Ads Manager can tailor your advertising and targeting to suit that goal!
It will also allow you to choose where your ads will be displayed, whether it be desktop, mobile, Instagram Stories, Messenger or Marketplace. Your Facebook goals should not just be to get more ‘likes’ but to get your customers taking an action that positively impacts your business.
If you would like to know more about Ads Manager and how to get the best out of your digital marketing, the team at Rebel Nation are more than happy to help. Contact us today on 4944 0976.
